Antonio Salieri: Early Life and Education
Antonio Salieri was born into a wealthy merchant family in Legnago, Italy.
From a young age, he displayed a musical aptitude and received private instruction in violin and harp. He later pursued formal studies in composition at the Conservatory of Padua and the Ospedale degli Incurabili in Venice.
Vienna and Imperial Patronage
In 1766, Salieri was invited to Vienna by Florian Leopold Gassmann.
