Faculty Spotlight: Geeta Kothari
Geeta Kothari is a senior lecturer in the English department and director of the Writing Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in Government and Afro-American studies from Smith College in 1984, and in 1987 received her master’s in Creative Writing from New York University.
Since then, Geeta has published a variety of work, the most notable being “If You Are What You Eat, Then What Am I?” an essay reflecting on being the American child of immigrant parents that first appeared in The Kenyon Review in 1999 but has since been widely anthologized.
This past semester, T5F Communications Intern Rachel Sansonetti is studying with Kothari (Readings in Contemporary Fiction); she sat down with her and asked her questions about her accomplishments and how she got where she is today.
