Frida Chávez is the wife of Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr., a former WBC middleweight champion. Her husband is the son of boxing legend Julio César Chávez Sr.

She is also well-known as the ex-wife of notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán.

Frida Muoz is the boxing champion’s wife’s maiden name.

Chávez previously married El Chapo’s late son Édgar Guzmán López. Furthermore, she is the mother of Édgar’s daughter.

When police apprehended El Chapo, she was in danger of being arrested on multiple drug charges.

Prosecutors, however, did not press those charges against her.
