Takeshi Shudō (首藤剛志) (August 18, &#; October 29, ) was a Japanese scriptwriter best known for being the original showrunner and a frequent writer for Pokémon: The Original Series, including its firstthreefilms.

During the making of the second movie, he also created the Pokémon Lugia, the first in the series to not be made in-house at Game Freak; Shudō originally envisioned Lugia as a film-exclusive character and was surprised to see it included in Pokémon Gold and Silver.

As the anime's success mounted, however, Shudō's creative role was increasingly marginalized in favour of more corporately-minded producers, an issue over which Shudō increasingly despaired; when compounded by creative conflicts over the series' third movie, this ultimately led him to relinquish his role as series constructor (or showrunner) in , early in the Johto saga; Episode is the final episode on which he is credited in this capacity.

Nonetheless, Shudō would continue to contribute scripts for the anime
